0Are Zombies Ghosts Too?
They are both dead, so are zombies ghosts?
This week, I spent a lot of time thinking about the undead. Ghosts, spirits, zombies. Okay, so I got caught up in reruns of The Walking Dead. Point is, it made me think: Ghosts and zombies are both the remains of people who were once alive. So are zombies ghosts?
To put it simply: No, they’re not. A ghost is the spirit of a person who was once alive. A zombie is the body of a person who was once alive, reanimated. With zombies though, there is no spirit, consciousness, or history. The zombie epidemic is a disease that infects the brain and takes over the body. Much like a car will get us from point A to point B, the disease uses the body to bring it to where there is more human flesh to be consumed.
So yes, zombies are a part of a human life that is left to roam around once the human dies, but it is not the part that can think, feel, remember, or haunt.
Besides, zombies aren’t real. I can’t say the same thing for ghosts.
