0Vanilla Brownies
I know what you’re thinking. Vanilla?! But the good news is that these Vanilla Brownies are so chocolate-y you can barely taste the vanilla — even though the recipe calls for a lot of it.
In fact, the recipe is a lot like a chocolate chip cookie recipe, only instead of dropping the dough in spoonful-size lumps onto a baking sheet, you press it into a brownie pan.
What you get is a thick, yummy square that’s almost crusty on the outside and gooey on the inside. Not to mention studded with chocolate chips.
Try them fresh from the oven with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. Super delicious.
To make your own Vanilla Brownies, you’ll need:
- 2 1/4 cups of flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter – softened
- 1 1/4 cups white sugar
- 1 1/4 cups brown sugar
- 3 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line an 8 x 8 pan with parchment paper (or grease it well).
Combine the flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl and stir them up well.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, the sugars and the vanilla until they are nice and smooth. Beat the eggs into butter mixture one at a time. Next, stir in the flour mixture. The batter will be quite stiff.
Stir in the chocolate chips.
Spread the batter evenly into the pan.
Bake for 35-45 minutes. Let the pan cool for at least ten minutes before you try to eat them. Then try to stop eating them. 🙂
