Ready for College?
12-year-old Jacob Barnett is already there. He even tutors his fellow students! Jake has an IQ of 170 – higher than Albert Einstein, himself.
Jake was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome at age 3. People with Asperger’s often have very specified interests – Jacob’s are astronomy and mathematics. He attended normal school for a while, but was bored by it. After teaching himself calculus, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry in a week(!!), Jake started classes in math and astrophysics at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. And he hasn’t stopped since – in fact, his professors now plan to move him to a paid research position. He’s challenging the Big Bang Theory!
And just for those of us who have trouble with numbers, Jake has aYouTube series to bring us up to speed.
The Barnett family founded My Jacob’s Place, “specializing in where kids with autism can be awesome.” My Jacob’s Place is a nonprofit organization that provides kids with autism and their families with a special place to foster friendships and support one another.
