1Spotlight On: Maddie Bradshaw
Got a great idea?
So did 6th grader Maddie Bradshaw. She was only ten years old when she created Snap Caps, necklaces made from bottle caps.
Here’s how it happened: she was looking for magnets for her school locker, but couldn’t find anything fun, so she decided to make her own using bottle caps. It wasn’t long before she was making them for all her friends! One suggested she try to sell them in stores.
With her mom and little sister Margot in tow, Maddie decided to use $300 of her own money to start a business. Before she knew it, Snap Caps, the magnet interchangeable bottle cap necklace, became a hot tween trend, selling up to 50 000 necklaces per month.
Now, at 15 years old, Maddie is the President, Founder and Head Designer of M3 Girl Designs, a multi-million dollar company. Margot is the Vice President and Assistant Designer of M3 Girl Designs, and Mom helps out too.
Maddie is also the author of Maddie Bradshaw’s You Can Start a Business, Too! a book that inspires young entrepreneurs to follow their great ideas.
Maddie’s funky interchangeable bottle caps can be worn as bracelets, necklaces, hair ties, head bands, and more.
